About the Author
Dr. Alaettin Imamoglu was born in Duzce, Turkiye in 1956. He completed his primary education at Ataturk Primary School, and secondary school at Duzce High School. In 1976, he graduated from Duzce High School, Science Department. In the same year, he was among the founding members of the National Turkish Student Union's Duzce branch, and soon after, he was appointed as the branch president. In 1977, he graduated from Duzce Imam Hatip High School as an external student. Between 1977 and 1981, he completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Bursa Economics and Commercial Sciences Academy. During this period, he held various positions in Bursa Organization of the Natioanal Union of Student Affairs, including deputy manager, secretary, and book club manager.
In 1983, he completed his military service as a reserve officer. He worked as an accounting manager and administrative manager at Intercorporated public companies such as DOSTAS and DELTA. He also established and managed a private accounting office for a short period of time.
In 1988, he started working as a lecturer at Duzce Vocational School affiliated with Istanbul Technical University. He completed his master's degree in International Business Administration at Istanbul University with a thesis on "Tax Crimes and Penalties" in 1992. In 1999, he got his PhD at the same university and department with a thesis on "Performance Measurement in Responsibility Centers. After being appointed as an Assistant Professor, he held positions such as program director, department head, board member, and founding director of Duzce University School of Social Sciences. (2011-2016) During this period, he also published an e-journal called "Journal of Management and Educational Sciences" and served as its editor for four years.
He retired in January 2023. He has scientific books, research projects, and various articles published in peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed journals. He is the editor of the tefsirim.com website, which focuses on Quranic interpretation. He is married and has one son. He speaks Turkish and he can speak Arabic and English as foreign languages.
